Diva BOW 2003
Fifteen ounce at birth and Diva was the biggest puppy I ever saw! She gave Piper a real workout, but from the moment she hit the ground, there was just something that drew your eye to Diva! Could it be that she was a pudge-butt? Or her huge liquid eyes, her lovely color? Or how loud, happy, energetic, or loving she was? Who knows, but Diva got the attention! Maybe I should say, Diva took the attention! She grabbed it! She stole it!!! Diva is a handful and she knows it! She delights in it! She thrives on it! She loves life! She's so damn happy she bounces off the walls with exuberance! You see a devilish look in her eye and she knows she's got you hook line and sinker! You can't ignore her or there's hell to pay - verbally, I mean! Oh, did I mention Diva talks? Perhaps I should call it singing, so do be careful what you name your dogs as they tend to live up to their given names, lol! Speaking of names, it should be perfectly obvious why she is called the Ditch Witch because everything about Diva is literal and it's not for lack of trying that she hasn't hit China yet digging! There is nothing subtle about this funny girl!
Diva Does Demure
Diva once devoured half a chicken (bones and all) in six seconds flat and later had to have her stomach pumped but that hasn't stopped her from trying to eat the kitchen sink! She can be on the counter and off again with the stealth of Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible before you hear a thing! She can be up in your arms in a flash (and I'm not short), or jump over your head without any exertion! She'll chase a bunny or the birds with such speed and abandon you'd think she hadn't eaten in a month! Diva is a total chaotic challenge to live with, she's a sneak and a thief but she is an absolute joy that I couldn't be without - she completes life itself! Diva equals FUN!!!
Ducky Diva
Diva is the perfect definition of extreme, perhaps not in looks but in actions. She is bigger-than-life extravagant, silly, energetic, loud and obnoxious - but in such a charming way that she bowls you over with her enthusiasm and suddenly you've joined in her excitement and voila, you're happy even if you're having a rotten day! Diva's tail never quits, it wags so hard and so fast her whole rear end moves around! She is rarely without a toy in her mouth, but that in no way prevents her from talking - the toy merely acts to slightly mute the volume, but she can talk through or over anything!!! She tears around the place playing like a puppy tossing things in the air, and she can broad jump hurling herself across a room like she was on springs, just like her daddy Nemo!
Diva trotting
Diva won her first major, 4 nice big points at just 7 months of age with Nemo's owner Linda Zaworski showing her for me since I had been up all night with PJ's newborn puppies! The next day she came in season for the first time! Not just any old (well ok, young) season, but one complete with a false pregnancy and everything that entails! Her next points came a few months later, and since then it's been a dry spell for Diva! She is finally maturing and her houndiness is refining out so she looks more feminine, but still.....finding a judge who will award Diva for her beautiful balance, the old head type, the stellar movement, and not be swayed by the fact that she isn't a sweepy delicate little sylph is a challenge in itself! Height-wise Diva is not a big bitch with both her sisters Rozi and Lacey standing taller than she, but her carriage and presence makes you think she's larger than she is! Diva does everything big though - she's larger than life and over the top no matter you cut it, but she sure does put a smile on your face! I love her to pieces and boredom will certainly never be an issue with Diva around!!
Diva's sire Nemo
I know Diva will find her niche but it may not be in the show ring, however I have in no way given up on her and she's still young. I wish I was younger too, she might be great in Agility! I'm hopeful she will flourish in the whelping box also, though she'll probably have 20 kids at once just to prove she's Wonder Woman, lol!!! I'm looking for the perfect stud dog for Diva who is refined, pretty-pretty and VERY laid-back! This last requirement is prima for my nutty wild child, or her puppies might come out spinning their wheels too!
