Futurity Nomination Requirements
Open to all breeders of purebred whippets who are in good standing with AKC. Bitches must be nominated before
whelping. Only puppies whelped by nominated bitches after the date of nominations are eligible. A fee of $15 must
accompany the bitch nomination. The litter must be nominated before it is 3 months old, accompanied by a fee of
$20. Entry into the regular classes of the futurity is considered as the individual nomination. The individual fee is $15.
Ribbon Prizes
First through Fourth places in each class will receive a rosette. Best in Futurity will received a Pink & Green Rosette.
Trophies
The Ch. Fenwick of Whippoorwill Memorial Trophy: The AWC will retain possession of this trophy. The win ner of Best In Futurity will be engraved on a wooden base that accompanies the trophy. The owner of Best In Futurity will receive a separate trophy as a memento of the win.
Best in Futurity: 8" Commemorative Plate with Specialty Logo offered by the American Whippet Club, Inc. Pewter Megaphone Lamp with Black Shade.
Class Trophies
First in each Class: AWC Medallion offered by the American Whippet Club, Inc.
Second through Fourth in each Class: AWC Charm offered by the American Whippet Club, Inc. Prize Money
After retaining 35% for Futurity expenses, the remaining 65% of entry fees will be divided as follows:
1st in each class — 40% 2nd in each class — 30% 3rd in each class — 20% 4th in each class — 10% Prize money shall be awarded to the breeder/breeders only. If the owner or exhibitor of the winning dog is not the breeder and the breeder is not present, a check will be mailed directly to the breeder. It is between the breeders, ex hibitors, and owners to decide possession of any awards or cash prizes presented for any wins.
