"Smudge," a Whirlaway granddaughter, graced my life for 13 yrs. She was the kind of whippet every breeder would like to have I believe. Her show career was extremely brief. At age one she was shown in Open a total of 6 times. She went RWB, RWB, WB for 5pt maj, WB for 5pt major (same weekend!!), WB for 2pt, and WB for another 5pt major. I tried Specialing her some, unfortunately her competition here was the two top males in the country with their well known handlers to boot. The Continental and "Toto." Guess who got BOS at the shows! Smudge produced one litter, by Ch Khiva's Show Stopper of 5 pups. Four got their championships quickly and the 5th was pointed when the owners stopped showing. One was a multiple Group winner. I kept two of her pups myself, (featured next). Ch Sangaree's Moon Dancer and Ch Sangaree's Mistri Lady. Smudge was every inch a lady and a champion! I will never have another quite like her.
