RAVENSHEUGH BELITA at 8 months

T HIS fawn bitch of Ravensheugh breeding was exported to Sweden in May to Miss Kerstin Ronne and was the result of a mating between Harque to Beaumont (sire of the illustrious Ch Harque The Lark) and Ravensheugh Amelia. A repeat mating had been arranged but unfortunately Harque to Beaumont died and so it is hoped in 1970 to use one of the other Harque stud dogs whose breeding is suitable. Various other bitches in the kennel, such as Ravensheugh Anita and Ballet Shoes from Blik (her mother) will also be mated in 1970, the latter to Ravensheugh Barry, a litter brother to the exported Belita, and one which is being shown and is winning in Scotland.

While this kennel is a small one, it is one which is progressing steadily and Mrs Smithers, who believes in very careful feeding and rearing, can always be relied upon to present her hounds in good hard fettle thanks to this and to the amount of free exercises which they are afforded.—W RONALD IRVING

The Whippet, Another Rose of Glenbervie, has made a great impact and many admirers, handled exclusively by Pamela Marston. After Windsor Championship Show Mrs Odell wrote: 'Outstanding 8 month lightly marked parti, most delightful combination of youth, her young handler showing her with utmost perfection, they both being in complete harmony throughout two exhausting classes. Perfectly presented, appealed tremendously in size and type and was so balanced and sound, must have an exciting future.'
